How to choose a wholesaler for reselling on Vinted?

1. The actual sellable cost per item

This is the central criterion. The price displayed by the supplier is not the real cost.

Sellable cost per item = (lot price + shipping) ÷ (number of items × (1 − waste rate))

Both examples use the same assumptions for shipping and waste, for a comparison under equal conditions.

Example 1: Friptadium kilo box (Women's Basic Tops, 10 kg)

  • Lot: €74.99

  • Shipping: €10 (assumption; actual costs calculated at checkout)

  • Total: €84.99

  • Items: 30 (middle of the announced range of 20 to 43)

  • Waste rate: 10% (assumption)

  • Sellable items: 30 × 0.90 = 27 items

  • Real cost per sellable item: €84.99 ÷ 27 = €3.15/item

Example 2: Skull Wholesale 15 branded T-shirts box

  • Lot: €89

  • Shipping: €10 (assumption; actual costs calculated at checkout)

  • Total: €99

  • Items: 15

  • Waste rate: 10% (assumption)

  • Sellable items: 15 × 0.90 = 13.5 items

  • Real cost per sellable item: €99 ÷ 13.5 = €7.33/item

Under equal assumptions, the Basic kilo box is twice as cheap per item. The branded box is only justified if its average resale price is significantly higher. This is the next criterion.

2. The average resale price on Vinted

On Vinted, the average purchase price of a garment is around €13, according to La Fabrique de l'industrie. A mainstream brand and a premium brand do not resell at the same price. Before buying a lot, check the prices of sold listings on Vinted for the brands and categories in the lot. Brand benchmarks: our guide to the best-selling brands on Vinted and the vintage resale simulator.

3. The actual waste rate

The waste rate depends on the supplier's sorting. Friptadium announces over 90% Grade A. La Friperie de Martine announces 90% Grade A on its branded lots. Pawpick Vintage announces 80% of its stock in Cream/A+ quality. Measure your own rate on a first order before buying in volume.

4. The minimum purchase

Friptadium and Skull Wholesale: no minimum on their boxes. Vinqa: 10 items. DHEM: 50 items for the professional rate. Pawpick Vintage and La Friperie de Martine: not communicated.

5. Stock consistency with your niche

A men's sportswear reseller has no interest in buying stock that is 90% female. Conversely, Vinqa bales are exclusively men's. Check the announced composition before buying. For a physical store, also see our page online wholesaler for thrift stores.

6. Regular supply

DHEM and Pawpick Vintage announce weekly stock replenishment. Replenished stock allows for regular posting on Vinted without category breaks.

Why is the price per kilo misleading?

A raw bale at €4/kg seems cheaper than a sorted lot at €7/kg. Once waste and sorting time are accounted for, the calculation reverses.

Common assumptions: 10 kg, 28 items (La Friperie de Martine announces 20 to 35 items for 10 kg), labor time valued at €15 per hour, identical shipping costs and excluded from the calculation.

Raw bale, 10 kg at €4/kg:

  • Purchase cost: €40

  • Waste rate: 30% (assumption)

  • Sellable items: 28 × 0.70 = 19.6 items

  • Sorting, washing, ironing time: 3 hours, or €45

  • Total real cost: €40 + €45 = €85

  • Cost per sellable item: €85 ÷ 19.6 = €4.34/item

Sorted lot, 10 kg at €7/kg:

  • Purchase cost: €70

  • Waste rate: 5% (assumption)

  • Sellable items: 28 × 0.95 = 26.6 items

  • Verification time: 30 min, or €7.50

  • Total real cost: €70 + €7.50 = €77.50

  • Cost per sellable item: €77.50 ÷ 26.6 = €2.91/item

Result. The sorted lot at €7/kg costs €1.43 less per sellable item than the raw bale at €4/kg, i.e., 33% less. The price per kilo measures volume, not profitability.

The threshold. Without counting time, the bale costs €2.04 per sellable item compared to €2.63 for the sorted lot. Under these assumptions, the raw bale is only profitable if your hourly labor is worth less than €4.40.

Comparative methodology

This comparison covers 6 active wholesalers in the French market, selling online or in warehouses to second-hand resellers.

Sources. Each entry is built from data published on the official supplier's website: dhem-france.com, friptadium.com, lafriperiedemartine.com, pawpickvintage.fr, vinqa-grossiste.com. Skull Wholesale data comes from its catalog and back-office. The mentions "not communicated" indicate an absence of public information on the date of collection.

Collection date. September 10, 2026. Prices displayed include VAT, excluding shipping costs and promotional codes. Prices may change.

Selection criteria. Active suppliers with an online site, explicitly targeting resellers or offering wholesale formats (lots, bales, by kilo). Once Again was excluded: as of September 10, 2026, its site indicates that purchases are suspended and the service operates as a consignment for individuals via DressKare. No test orders were placed. The ranking is alphabetical and does not constitute a rating.

Conflict of interest. "Skull Wholesale is a wholesaler in the sector and the publisher of this page. Information concerning other players comes from their official websites, collected on September 10, 2026."

Market data. Vinted has 23 million users in France, its largest market worldwide (Le Parisien, March 2024). According to the French Fashion Institute, second-hand clothing accounted for nearly 6 billion euros in France in 2024, or 12% of fashion sales. Vinted holds the top spot among retailers in terms of clothing purchase volume in France, ahead of Kiabi and Amazon (IFM, 2025).

Publisher. Skull Wholesale, a wholesaler of second-hand branded clothing for Vinted resellers in France. Skull Wholesale indicates a buying and selling activity since 2019; its online store has been registering orders since October 2024. Observed average basket: €150 per order. Delivery to 28 countries: European Union and Switzerland.

Correction. A cited supplier may report an error or price change: the correction is published with its date.

Update history. September 10, 2026: first publication, price survey of the 6 suppliers on their official websites.

Frequently Asked Questions about Vinted Wholesalers

What budget is needed to start reselling on Vinted?

A first test lot costs between €20 and €100. Friptadium starts at €19.99, La Friperie de Martine at €30, and Skull Wholesale at €89 for 15 branded items. Start small to measure your actual waste rate.

Do you need professional status to buy wholesale?

No for buying: DHEM and Friptadium do not require any status. Yes for reselling: buying and reselling is a commercial activity from the first euro of profit, most often carried out as a micro-enterprise. Vinted transmits your sales to the tax authorities beyond 30 sales or €2,000 in the year (DAC7 directive).

Is it better to buy Grade A or Grade B?

Grade A refers to items in very good condition, directly resellable. Grade B shows some signs of wear and tear and is sold at an adjusted price. To start, choose a lot that is predominantly Grade A and demand a written definition of the grade.

By kilo or by item: which formula to choose?

By kilo, the price per item is often lower, but the number of items is not guaranteed. By item, the unit cost is known before purchase. Kilo is suitable for volume, item for the reseller who wants to forecast their margin.

How many items are in a 10 kg lot?

Between 20 and 43 items depending on the category. La Friperie de Martine announces 20 to 35 items for 10 kg of branded clothing. Friptadium announces 20 to 43 items for 10 kg of women's tops, which are lighter.

How to calculate your margin on a lot?

First, calculate the cost per sellable item: (lot price + shipping) ÷ (number of items × (1 − waste rate)). Subtract this from your observed average selling price, then remove packaging and additional costs. Revenue is not profit.

What to do with unsold items?

Group them into discounted lots on Vinted or Leboncoin. Offer them to a thrift store on consignment. Drop the rest in a textile collection bin for reuse or recycling.

What is the difference between a bale and a box?

A bale is a large, often compressed package, sold by weight: Pawpick Vintage offers bales of 30 to 50 kg. A box is a smaller lot, sorted by category or grade: 3 to 10 kg at Friptadium, 15 items at Skull Wholesale. The bale offers a lower price per kilo, the box requires less sorting.
